I didn't prep my soil at all last year because of a very late start. I dumped well-composted manure, added 10 bags of coffee grounds on the patch area and tilled in the grass. Plants grew pretty well despite the lack of prep. I sent my soil sample out to UMass last week and received the results back. What are your thoughts and what should be added?

Try to raise ph up to 6.5 to 6.8 by adding lime.Raise your Ca and Mg. Want to keep a ca/mg of 7;1.can use gypsum for ca and Epsom salts for mg.I like to raise iron to 50 ppm. use iron sulfate for that

apply 50# of dolomitic lime and 50# of calcitic lime ( low in mag content) per 1000 sq feet. the change in PH will mess with the availability of everything so retest in the spring and adjust from there.
