I have a Warner 1514.5 and a Wrigley 819 going gangbusters. Both around 250#. How are yours doing in this heat?

I had a nice one abort at 18 days with no backup since I culled one a couple days before. Was about 50lbs when it aborted. No idea why...Ugh. Just pollinated a side vine this morning. Still hoping for another main but so far no more females have shown up on the main.

Chuck, I would love it if you'd drop me a line at the end of the season to let me know how the 819 did for you. As a second year grower in 2011 I was so pleased with how the 819 turned out (8th place in my first GPC weigh-off) dwrigleyjr@yahoo.com
Thanks, Dana

Of note to Punpkin bell and fultonpub, once the plants were really growing, they were adding 3 ft at each tip and pumpkins everywhere. Hangon they will come.

Saw your diary and got your email. Many thanks. Sent you one back with pics of her mom and the fruit from the pollinator. I was very worried about the shape of the 819 when she was growing since she had a sucked in blossom end. But the 1462 Holland that she is crossed with had an "outie" so hopefully your fruit won't have that same problem. She looks great. Probably won't be spectacularly orange, but heavy is what counts. Good luck!!
