close to 100 litres of rain per square meter during the last few days. 7°C last night and only 18°C today.
forecast not looking much better.

plants can take it but not the young fruits. growth almost stopped.

how is your situation?

Martin,
It's not normal after two days that I can't tell if my pollination took. We have only had about ten liters of rain but it is also very cold and only 13 Celcius this morning.

I will check out my 894 Glasier today to see if she grew any. She was almost baseball size two days ago.

we have had rain for the last 13 hours straight, and it is still raining right now. 8 degrees last night, 11 right now. pollinated 3 on my 1056 dueck, 2 aborted and the third has split. as of right now, nothing set, nothing in sight for at least 7 more days. i love our hobby...lol.

Owen, sorry to read that - same situation here, not much growth and the fruits won`t mature either - my first on the 826 seems to have taken, it`s glossy and gets slightly bigger, but really hard to tell as the temperatures are low and rain keeps pouring ... I have two Hokkaido plants which will nevertheless grow like mad, but no blossoms to open right now and I hope they won`t `till the weather situation improves ...

Thanks Heino, but it might just be a blessing in disguise. Had the ones I pollinated last week all set, then right now they would be fighting these cold temps with typically very little growth. When that happens it is possible they would never recover and start growing well. Now, if the weather improves, and I pollinate a couple next week, I will still have plenty of time, and if the weather is good, then the pumpkins should grow at a decent pace.

Time will tell, gotta stay optimistic.

Yep, nice season so far.
Yesterday I found the main vine of my 996 Bobier broken off at 12 ft including the female I wanted to pollinate in 2 or 3 days. Nothing on that main vine now.
The 1260 Weir is a 1260 Weird, the main is triple and divided itself several times, looks like a Hydra now. Just good to get some males from.
The 1370 Rose also has a triple main vine which is still intact. Had a pollination this morning with 3 males from 1260 (only little pollen available).
Wish me luck - it was my birthday pollination :)

on the 1056 Dueck is no longer? Man I was so glad that you had a great start this year after your terribly bad luck with splits last year.
What do you put in your soil that they all blow up? In my 5 years of growing AGs I've only had one single fruit on a 1016 D. plant splitting on me.

But hey, maybe what you say is very true. My newly set fruits were growing nicely during the warm weather but since we got this cold and wet weather they are not getting any good circ. gains any more. I hope you are not right but I fear you are. They might pick up a bit once the weather improves but they most likely will never recover totally.
Bad thing is that I already hacked my main vine at the edge of the patch and that I do not have any more females on the main to pollinate.
Maybe your situation is better this time.
