I would like to know how you others get your fruits on the pallet? Do you roll the fruit over or just turn it and then let it slowly come down on the pallet? Who is using a lifting ring? What about lifting it with a crane if you got no lifting ring? I`ve read several warnings not to hold or touch the stem when loading the fruit. What would you put between the pallet and the fruit, given it is over 200 kg, if you had to go 700 km with it?

my may be 226,5kg pumkin has been rolled on the pallet yeaterday by six men, with foamrubber under it. It went not too bad, but small skindamages.
I have some pictures but not a diary yet.

Do Not Roll it Over. Lift it on its side. Have some one push the pallet up to the pumpkin. Then slide the pumpkin on the pallet to center it.

Heino, erstmal noch Glückwunsch zu Deinem Pachtexemplar.

Ih habe meine 120 kg mit zwei Helfern auf eine Palette gehoben und dann mit einer Schubkarre davon gefahren. Das war so die Grenze des Machbaren. Bei 200 Kg und mehr brauchst Du am besten eine stabile Plane. Ich glaube, Du kannst den Kürbis ohne Schaden ankippen und ein Helfer legt die Plane drunter. Dann in die andere Richtung kippen und Plane durchziehen.

Wenn es nicht geht, würde ich einen Dreibock bauen und mit Flaschenzug anheben. Stabile Flachgurte gibt es in jedem Bamarkt. Mit denen kannst Du auch ohne Hebering ein Geschirr basteln. Vielleicht hilft Dir jemand von eurer Freiwilligen Feuerwehr.

I don´t need to move them on pallets. As always, they already grow on pallets since late July :-)
