I'm rooting for you. I hope your 1502 makes it to a 1000 lbs. Keep her growing!

I love the rugged look on that pumpkin.

Brad, I'm not sure she will hit 1000 lbs, but I will do my best! I hope your pumpkins will hit 1200 lbs.

Brad, it’s pity I have to cut off the pumpkin as early as Sept 27 for the swedish Pumpkin Contest. It would have been interesting to see how long the pumkin could have grown. Well, I haven’t yet decided whether to join the competition or not.

I think it will have stopped growing by Sept 27. Please keep us posted. It would be nice to see you enter your pumpkin at the Swedish weigh off. I hear there are 3 or 4 really heavy pumpkins in Sweden this year.

Hi SwedenGustavsson, I especially liked the pic from August 3, with the black cat on the pumpkin!

Brad,
I’m not sure that the pumpkin has stopped growing by Sept. 27. If the plant is healthy, if the weather is OK and there is no freezing, and if it hasn’t split, then I see no reason why it should have stopped growing Sept. 27. My pumpkin 756 Gustavsson from 2001 was growing (without stump) for about 125-130 days, and as far as I remember, when I cut it off it was still growing a little.
Of course, the growing speed is continously fading with time.
