Hi all, I had a pumpkin set about 10-11 ft and growing at an impressive rate. Unfortunateley the angle to the vine was all wrong and the shoulders would very soon stress the vine and stalk so I culled it.

Now I have set I think another 2ft up the main at the right angle but it just is not coming close to growing at the same rate...

My question is, do you get only one chance to set a pumpkin.

Have I upset the plant after a cull ???
Will another further up grow well?

Appreciate you comments

Mark,
You get more than one chance,12-13ft is a very common distance for growing large fruit, that is pretty much ideal position and personally I would prefer that one to another growing faster somewhere else such as on a secondary.
