I sent some seeds off today to a grower in Poland and that got me thinking. Is there anyone out there who would like to work with me to get a GPC weigh off out there? We didn’t have one in the UK so we started one which is not as difficult you might think. My email is i.paton@btinternet.com. Ian

Last year there were four contestants at the Polish weigh-off (Wroclaw) and the year before just 1, so I am not sure if there are enough participants for a GPC weigh-off there.

Do you need to have more growers? Sweden has a GPC weigh-off and in 2010 there are only 6 pumpkins from 5 different growers listed.
And the GPC weigh-off in Kaiserslautern only has 5 pumpkins and 1 squash listed.
And even in the states theere are GPC weigh-offs with less then 10 fruits entered.

You don’t have to have ten pumpkins in fact one would be fine. All it needs is plenty of enthusiasm, the min $100 and all the growers get to have a couple of beers and a great day in the autumn. This about growers getting to see all their hard work recognised. Ian
