Have you had storm this night ? Here we had a lot of rain, thunders and lightnings, probably hail, and very strong wind. I hope my pumpkins aren't damaged, but I haven't checked it out yet..

I checked pumpkins. Everything seems to be o.k Exept one thing.
THE FEMALE ON 709.9 FREI OPENED ! It was all flooded with water, and the only opened male has no pollen due to rain at night. I thought that it will open tommorow. This night and this morning are/were the worst since ... march... (?) I just hope that pollen out of not opened males will be enough to pollinate this 100% good looking 5 lobe femlae.. we will see..

There´s only one thing to do for every female under these weather conditions - cover! Keep it dry, keep it away from the rain and at least put a heater nearby. I have a female on sunday that will be completely covered and isolated tomorrow, using wood construction, garden fleece, plastic film, whatever I can find. Plants are doing great with the "mixed weather" but I don´t think the females will do when it comes to pollination. Also all opening males are stored inhouse during night - don´t think they´ll take up to 90% humdity for any valid pollen. Right now 53 F outside...just for the record-)
