Could it actually be that we'll have a dry day tomorrow? (so says the forcast...)
We for one are definitely bringing our umbrellas at any rate... Last year I was so wet and cold I had to wrap myself in the car blanket under my coat. We'll see... Michel

A dry and sunny day - a safe trip and a good placing, that´s what I wish you for tomorrow! Some of you might already know that I can´t go to Ludwigsburg this year because I don´t have a car with a trailer for tomorrow so I brought the pumpkins to our NRW state fair today. Weigh-off is tomorrow. Not as big as Ludwigsburg but a nice little castle 30 minutes away from me. Now I have a request: can someone phone me on the handy if you know the winner in Ludwigsburg? Would be nice to see which placing my own fruits could have done and what you did. My number is 0173-2010550. Greatly appreciated! Now good luck to all and thanks in advance, Ingo

Yes, I think we have a good chance for nice and warm weather tomorrow!!! The weather forecast can't be that wrong, can it? That would be my first German weighoff without rain since 2001!
Ingo, I noted down your cell phone number and I will call you as soon as all fruits are weighed. Promised! But I'm sure you would have taken first place this year!

Hello Martin, thanks alot. Concerning the first place - remeber "the beast in the east" from last year. Who knows what the Zygladow´s will bring tomorrow:-)

You are right, Ingo. You never know about Eugeniusz! But I have the feeling that he can't beat your weight!
Talk to you tomorrow! I guess at about 4PM.

Ingo, Sorry we wont see you in Ludwigsburg!
I just realized that if I can't solve the dispute with Simon about my pumpkins AND the 419 Pukos is not allowed to enter due to it's split then I won't have my own pumpkin to enter and won't be able to get in free with my family...
Guess I'll have to go get a small pumpkin from the patch so I at least have something to enter.
Too many hassles for me at this last minute! See you guys later today, Michel

Well you guys were right! It turned out to be the most beautiful day for the weigh-off ever. Nice seeing everyone and congrats to Peter Frei and his son for taking the first two places and for Martin's 3rd place finish.
I was happy enough to take 5th place and I'm sure Martin will have all the weigh-off info posted in a few hours from now.
My 790 Daletas pumpkin weighed 206.8 Kilograms or 455.9 lbs. It was arguebly the nicest shaped pumpkin with light orange color and will remain on display in Ludwigsburg till next Saturday. Other pumpkins like Martin's 801.5 Stelts had a much nicer skin color.
My 419 Pukos was counted as 6th place but I don't have the weight handy.
Glad it's all over!!!!!! Michel

Hi all, just phoned with Martin Reiss and however the 2 biggest pumpkins in Germany come from Cologne this year! First 2 places on the NRW state fair 307 kg / 684 lbs (+ 9 % heavy) for my 1236 Eaton x 1260 Weir, 277 kg / 617 lbs (+ 24 % heavy) for my 1260 Weir x 1236 Eaton. Too bad I could not go to Ludwigsburg this year:-) Pics will follow in my diary. Congrats to all, Ingo
