I was wondering if someone would be so kind as to tell me how many days a marrow takes to become ripe. I have a nice plant going and I would like to be on schedule to have a Marrow ready for a weigh off on October 2ND. Any information would be very much appreciated. Thank You.

Brad Wursten I think told me like 7 weeks or so.

They will grow anywhere from 5-7 weeks, so on average about 6 weeks.

I hope to pollinate around August 1 for my October 2nd weigh-off.

Wow I can't believe these things grow that fast. LOL
I pollinated 2 in these last few days and there are dang near 10 fruits that will need pollinated in this next week or so.
This plant is exhausting me with all these aborts so if it doesn't take any of these I'm pulling it. If I can't get a marrow with all these crappy high 90's temps everyday next year I'll have to grow giant greenies. Next week is supposed to me in the low 80's so I am crossing my fingers.
Caleb you have a good sized one growing?

The plant is doing just fine as near as I can tell beings that this is my first year attempting to grow a Marrow. I have 4 sets on the main vine with the longest one measuring 16" in length. Another one will open up tomorrow. The plant is out of the 40# Wittenburg. I found the seed in my seed chest this Spring and decided to give it a try. I have dead headed most of the vines due to a space conflict between the 1125 Razo, the 1140 Stevens, and the Marrow. The marrow plant is 10' x 15' with no where to go. Thank you Guys for the much needed information. Good luck and good gardening!
