W00000000 Weeee Wex!
and I think your right on that Glenn. I bet you also made Brett happy also Wex! After all them years of the 895 being grown its went over 1000lbs!
This is a great example on just how the new techniques, experience and the new products that has come out over the years on just how they help make these pumpkins grow ALOT bigger, no matter how old the seed is.

I think the first 1000 pound squash ever weighed (by about 2 weeks) was off the 895, and now the newest one. Not bad for a 10 year old seed. (as I go to the closet and see if I have any more...)

Thank you all very, very much! I still cannot believe that I grew a 1,000 pound squash! Me? In Kentucky?! Heck, I couldn't grow a 1,000 pound pumpkin going into this growing season.
I hope the guru is happy. He kindly gave out 10 seeds last year for what he called "The Hester Challenge" and I received one. My results were so horrible that I kept them to myself. I was hoping to make it up to him this year. Color me green! What an honor, again thank you all, I'm still grinning ear to ear.

Here is a thought.... what is the oldest seed to produce a 1K fruit, squash or pumpkin?

I think the 1st 895 over 1000 lbs was the 1018 Swarts 05, that shows the seed has some staying power. Congratulations Jamie, very nice looking fruit.

The 1010 Hoult 05 UOW grown from a 900 Lyons seed was the 1st pumpkin over 1000 lbs. Bill Greer officially broke the barrier in 1996 from a 697 Cilliberto 94, only to be ecliped by Paula and Nathan Zehr later the same day.

And the 895 comes from.... 900 lyons. Interesting trait to carry through. Seeds maintain viability and punch.
Hard to imagine a 12 year old pumpkin seed growing a world record now days though. Good stuff Andy.
