Im looking into some different things to grow next year can anyone give me some help on marrow,what is it? how big is the plant and how big is a good marrow ? thanks for any help. TREETOP

Record is 208 pounds... sort of a zuke on steroids but it's not a zuke. You can bake them or make rum of them.... and plant is at least 400 square feet, look at Dutch Brad's 2009 diary. He holds world record.

Both marrows and zucchini are Cucurbita pepo species and many marrows are small like zucchini and eaten the same way. They are grown more in Europe. However giant marrows are another story. They can get huge and I don't believe you would want to eat one but just grow it for competition. I grew one this year and had a blast with it. Biggest one was 43 lbs in my garden. I got my seed from a European grower.
