Is it true that squash wont grow like an atlantic giant and the genetics arent up to date. Is growing a 200 lbs squash like growing a 400 lbs pumpkin?

Squash are AGs, with a different colour and a more limited variance in genes. In Holland where squash are more heavily grown a squash ended 2nd in 2007 and 2009 and first in 2010. In Belgium you will also see less difference between pumpkins and squash seeing as they are heavily grown there too. In your terms, I'd say a 300lb squash is like growing a 400lb pumpkin.
