I had the pleasure of presenting my good friend Joel Jarvis with his Green Jacket at the seminar in Niagara this weekend. I just wanted to offer my congraturlations once again, to a well deserving individual. Joel, you have truly set the bar very high for all us squashers!

I also presented Joel with his Green GPC plaque carved by Joe Jutras, and "The Big Cheque" for $2500

Joel has been growing for many years and shared many of his growing teqniques with the group including an interesting device we will call the "Jarvis Enviro Shield". I will post more on this on my diary. I can tell you that many, many of these will be in use this year in the patches of those that attended this seminar.

Seeing your beauty of a squash at Port Elgin got my squash juices stirring, and after seeing your presentation at Niagara and having some great conversations with you, well all I can say is congratulations indeed! I think the squash world will be growing big time and you should be proud of your accomplishments, especially being in the stage of life you are in, with a young and growing family and a beautiful one at that. That green jacket looks great on you!

It was a real honor to be there guys to present the "How I grew it" and receive the Green Jacket. Can't wait to see what happens in the 'patches' of fellow growers after this years conference. It was a great interchange of knowledge and tips and will go down as a very memorable occasion. Thanks again:)
