Looking for input on these 2 plants. I planted 2 905 Vincent's and 1 1002 Jarvis. The Jarvis plant is very slow. 4th true leaf, is this normal for the 1002 On the other hand the 905's are crazy. Same age as the 1002, already vining and both equal. I have to cull one plant, and looks like it may be the 1002. Which means 905 X sib, and that is what I didn't want. Any thoughts on the 1002??????????

I had a 905 last season.Beautiful, very agressive plant with 2 squash set on it.July 3, a hail storm beat the squash and destroyed the 2 I had set. After the hail storm, the plant recovered and grew to be huge and very very healthy.I just could never get another squash to take after many trys on the plant.Lots of babies but none would pollinate. The plant itself looked beyond great, huge and very pretty dark green. If it were me,I'd keep the 1002.

Both look pretty good on paper...Personally I'm hoping 'C.K' grows the 905 though, I'd like to have a chance in Port Elgin come the fall;) On a serious note, thhe 1002 for me was a plant that gatherd momentum. Nothing to write home about in may and june...by october though that had changed. Never struggled to 'survive' though. If that was the case i'd pull the plant.

I'm glad the 1002 is a slow starter, cause I'm really wanting to grow it out. SOOOOOO I'm keeping one 905 and I'll cull the second, It's what the original plan was, SO no Plan B WIZ, we're going back to the original. We'll see which one wins the race cause their back to back in their own greenhouse

Built in dwarf rootstock;) Uncontrolled, the fruit of this line can do 50lb a day...i've seen it, i've enjoyed it, I was composting her in August. In a 5 month long race, i'd like to stay clear of those days. If the plant looks unhealthy though...she'd get cut and replaced.

The plant looks healthy, Just slow, BUT in the day of the 723 Bobier, it was very slow at the start also. I am culling one 905 and will try and cross the 905 with the 1002. Still want to cross the 1002 X 1495 Stelts!!!!!!!!!! That's still Plan "A" WIZ

845 bobier always started slower than others but It always out done the ones that were ahead. the theory for this was it was establishing a big root system to start then leaves then fruit. if leaves start to quick likely little root under it. giving you a big plant with no gas and smaller fruit

I have a nice 1002 growing in the patch, complements of Kirk Chenier who had a spare. It is not at all slow, however I have a back up going that is very slow.
It will be crossed with either the 1263 "Team Heavy 2ast" squash or the 905* depending on pollen availability.
Good luck with both Icy!
