Does anyone know if there are records kept of the weight or size of different varieties of squash or is the squash record for all squash in general? I seem to struggle with growing AG pumpkins but Jumbo Banana squash grows for me very well. I've looked on line but I didn't find anything "official" other than the record for Jumbo Banana squash is 150 lbs. Any helpful direction would be appreciated.

I know there is a specific world record for Turks Turban squash because it was exhibited at the Royal Winter fair in Toronto a few years ago. Brad Wursten might be able provide more info.

In the "official" giant vegetable world, there is only one class for squash. In the eighties I won that category one or two times with a Hungarian Mammoth. To my knowledge there are no rules stating which type of squash is allowed to be entered. That being said, Atlantic Giant "pumpkins" are squash but are not allowed in the squash division.
I'm sure some people keep track of the largest of a certain variety, but through cross breeding it would be pretty much impossible to make sure they were true strains. A Turks Turban will cross easily with an AG and if you grow enough of them, some will still look like a TT but just be way bigger.
