Okay here is what I have so far. No names behind the suggestions to keep it blind.

As for me, I have a couple items for discussion of the names that have been brought up in emails.
1. Since we are a secondary 'club' to the GPC, we may want to avoid using 'Great' or 'Commonwealth'

2. Use one of the following words may be a good idea, International, worldwide, intercontinental as this is a team effort that spans the globe.

3. Perhaps keep the word green out of the name as we do accept gray and blue.

4. Keep it short so its not a mouthfull to say.

There that is what I had from the emails. Read them over and lets narrow this list down, or, if someone has a really good one, throw it up on this thread.

I like The International Squash Growers Assoc. and League of Extraordinary Squash (probably because I like the movie of similar name).

International Giant Squash Growers Association, just thinking it is the only one that sounds professional, and giant needs to be thrown in there in order to establish say if someone runs across it or if it is advertised somewhere to avoid confusion that we aren't talking about any other squash.

Hi Joe- I also looked up association...and league...and club, etc. I just felt like association had a "larger" and more formal connotation. "Club" to me suggests a ground level organization...more informal and tidy. Club:
1.)a group or association of people with common aims or interests .a group or association of people with common aims or interests
2.)A group of people organized for a common purpose, especially a group that meets regularly: a garden club
3.)an association of persons of like sympathies usually interested in the promotion of some object, sport, etc
Club as a verb makes sense in two ways...it means:to gather and spend time together, and....especially relevant to the winter season- to bludgeon or stike, beat upside the head!
Just my opinion thats all...I like "Club" ...but then again in the words of the great Groucho Marx...."I don't want to belong to any club that will accept me as a member" ....lol
