Do squash do best in the same temperature as ag. The night temp here is to cold to ever grow a big pumpkin without a greenhouse. Just wondering how squash do. I don't think I will have a greenhouse by next year. Do they handle cooler temps better.

Yes I think they do like cooler temps.I know there hard to pollinate in the heat.

It may be true that squash like cooler temps but a 1,000 pounder was grown in the deep south two years ago. Believe me, it was not a cool summer! LOL

They seem to all stop growing for me at about 400-500 pounds. I don't know why. I would love to grow a nice blue or dark green one over 1000.
