WELL ITS OFFICIAL - PAP AND RON ARE GOING GREEN IN THIRTEEN.

WE WILL BE COACHED BY NONE OTHER THAN THE GREEN SQUASH WORLD CHAMPION JOEL JARVIS. WE WILL GROW FOUR OF JOELS CHOOSEN SEEDS.

I AM CONDFIDENT THAT WITH JOELS COACHING AND OUR GROWER KNOWLEDGE WE CAN MAKE A DECENT RUN AT IT.PLUS LOCALLY WE HAVE OUR GOOD GREEN GROWER BUDDY JOE JUTRAS TO LEAN ON AS WELL.

RON-PAP AND JOEL WILL BE DUBBED "THE CAN/AM CONNECTION"

IM EXCITED CAUSE I ALWAYS WANTED TO TRY MY HAND AT A TRUE GREENIE AND JOELS JUST THE GUY TO ADVISE US.

It should help this niche a lot to have more heavy hitters on board. Another new world record for the Wallace family in 2013 ?

That's great news! I've noticed that most growers that take the squash growing as seriously as the pumpkins that thier weights are usually very similar. Could we be seeing the first 2000+ squash in 2013?

ron certainly deserves a season off.after 23 years at it we both do but growing a green squash has always been an interest of mine.what better time than when no pumpkins are being grown?.
i promiced to leave him plenty of time to wind out that 389, tri power,4spd, gto.
ron will be just an extra set of hands plus my number one garden adviser.

Id think squash growing is same as pmpkin growing

squash have thicker walls,,cracks easyer and for some reason is still lagging behind the pumpkin by 700-800lb ,, squash is sort of like the handicap little brother of the pumpkin,,,

thats because green squash are and will never be as popular as pumpkins.
if green squash had been planted with the frequesncy of pumpkins the last 10-12 years? then greenies would be a lot bigger as well.

personally im just wanting to grow a few to get it out of my system. i know size wise i cannot come close to matching pumpkin size in one season and, im to old for a 5-10 year plan ---lol

I was thinking the exact same thing pap. Maybe I will grow some squash someday when I'm more experienced at the sport.
