Merry Christmas. What are you planning to grow for squash this next season? This thread needs some life.

John why high risk? Because of the light color of the 2036?

Patrick, the risk of growing a 1047* is that the coloring may not be green dominate.......so if someone needed green there are seeds with a lot better green potential. I packed 4 seeds in each packet for auctions to give a grower a better chance at getting a green fruit with 2009 genetics.

I would like to pick up a couple large dark greens, but if I don't, I'll grow one of my 398.5 Boyd'15. 717* Lovelace'10 x sib. I hope to give a squash one spot in the main patch this year. Good luck to all in 2016!

Growing the 1578 Holub again this year and 667 Plansky this year also. I crossed the 1578 Holub x 1421 Juntrus last year to get the 667 Plansky. Th e plant was great and the fruit was dark green and grew awesome up till my plant got destroyed by Mother Nature.it was on pace to get to 1200#s

Roundhead79 did you share your 667 Plansky with the exotic seed exchange? The GPC has it listed as Blansky, that must be a typo?

I try a new PB with a 1023 Martin and my own 591 MC-Krueger. The special this year is, that I try a „surprise-egg“ with the 1023er and the 1316 Jaser15-pumpkin, because the cross of this giant is 2323 Meier x 2009 Wallace..... more power for the next years!

I was thinking of growing giant squashes this year. I grew two PB giant pumpkins last year(438, 13% heavy and 504, 1% heavy). Can giant squashes be grown the same or different from giant pumpkins?
