What would happen (hypothetically) by crossing the 1844 Holub with a 2000+ lb AG?

This would be my first year growing green squash so I really don't know much about how AG genes would have an effect on squash color

Well both giant pumpkins and giant squashes are both squash, just the GPC rules state that a giant squash can not have any orange or white. Giant squashes have to have 100% blue, green and/or gray. By crossing the 1844 with a 2000+lb pumpkin you should get a really large giant pumpkin. The reason why is giant pumpkins have to have orange and/or white color, but not 100%. So, you would get fruits that have orange and/or white with the gray, blue, or green color.

I would thing the mother of the 1844 would be a better choice as it runs at 75% kin

The resulting seeds would produce a pumpkin 1st generation.

Hayden, you seem to live in the Golden Zone!! Why not try & reach out to some other Mass. growers & try & find some excellent (true green) squash pollen? Peace, Wayne

We discuss this in more detail a couple threads down, if you're interested in digging more into it Hayden:

If I grow it I'm going to self it. Been doing research into it and selfing seems to be the best option IMO
