Unless I'm mistaken, the NC State Fair only judges pumpkins and watermelons. Does each GPC site decide which categories they are going to judge? I'm just curious why there is no mention of squash (or gourds) at this particular site.

If they purchase the full package of ribbons with plaques, they get the full ribbon package with 3 plaques, (one squash, one HD, and one First Place site award). And ribbon for tomato, watermelon, Long gourd, Bushel Gourd, and Field Pumpkin. And 2-10 pumpkin ribbons. The site may choose not to advertise that, but contact them and ask perhaps no one ever brought the full compliments of fruit. But if they weigh pumpkin, they can easily weigh squash as well.
