I have 2 1807 plants. Every female on the main has been green, every female on a secondary has been yellow. Anyone else experience this? First time growing greenies, and thought it was odd. I know they could produce a pumpkin, but expected it to be more random

It could be helpful to see some pics of the green and the yellow females as well as some pics of the leaves at those secondaries which carry the yellow females.
Also, do the yellow females change color in the course of a couple of days, or do they stay yellow until the flower opens?

I have always pulled off the females as soon I see them on the secondary. I'll have to give them a few days next time. Because of the genetics, I expect them to stay yellow.

...because of the genetics, I expect them to have the same genetics as the females on the main vine. My guess: with the color of the genetically programmed "green" females it might be something like in case of human hair, secondaries and main vien are different parts of the body, and one´s hair may change color at different times at different parts of the body, depending on various regulation mechanisms.

I was just noticing that the ag vines seem to have three colors... Pale yellow, bright yellow/orange, and light and dark green. If the flower is going to abort the entire flower bud turns yellow (the sepals too). The pale vine color can become dark green later. I bet a pale yellow (colorless) flower would be the same...are you shading the vine tips?

I guess thats like 4 colors possible in the vine. Are they more pale or actually yellow?

I had a yellow baby on a 1701 Jutras plant at 10’ out & I was initially concerned.
I noticed over the next 2 days that it was not enlarging & I was hoping it was yellow because it was aborting.
Sure enough, at 14’ the plant has a new baby and it is nice & green!

All females on both my plants are green. Did have a pair of females on one node, and two next to each other on the main. Some of these 1844 x self seeds are doing strange things.
