I am posting to get some feedback on how people did with this seed.
My plant was vigorous & I ended up with a pb 1035.5.
This was despite the fruit being on a secondary vine & losing the main vine at the stump as well as distally.
I just wonder where it could have gone with the main vine healthy.
My main point however is how did your seeds turn out?
I selfed mine but at the end of the season I pulled all of the seeds out & found that every one of them were completely empty.
Others that have grown this seed, did you find this?

I'm curious too, I'm growing it next year. I know Hayden grew it, he didn't end up with anything. His quit growing at day 25 I think. Was on pace to be a monster. I'm sure he'll chime in when he sees this

Hi Steve I took the year off well all most only grew two plants. One being a 150 sq ft plant which was the 1701. Wanted to see what the 1844 offspring would look like I guess I was one of the lucky ones both were green. It was hard to conpare the plant to others being grown in such a confined area. The shape and color were good looked a lot like it’s farther the 1384. Was a little disappointed going four percent light but still very happy with the results. Most seeds are very thin from the 1844 offsprings making very weak spindly seedling. My 1534 are thinner than the 2118 were not surprise your are to. But the 927 are nice full seeds.

The 1701 Jutras was on my short list of squash seeds that I was considering growing next year. Considering that there were 5 listed within the top 24 in the GPC weigh-off results, I was impressed. Now, finding out that Joe grew his to 927.5 pounds on only a 150 square ft. plant puts that seed over the top for me. I could only imagine how big that squash would have been if grown on a much bigger plant. Also, I don't know what is more impressive, growing a squash to 2118 pounds or a squash almost reaching 1,000 pounds on only a 150 sq. ft. plant. Either way, a few years ago I never would've thought I'd see either one happen. Way to go Joe Jutras! Also, a huge thanks to Scott Holub for his long-term crossing plan that put us in a position for a squash to now get so large. I will be growing one or more 1701's next year. Realistically, there are very few squash seeds out there that have as many grown to around the 1,000 pound mark or above as the 1701.

The other thing that catches my attention is where many of these were grown. Steve, in Indiana, is 1,035.5 pounds a state record or at least close? How was the coloring of yours? I'd also have to believe that the 1,089 pounder grown in Tennessee would be at or above a state record there too.

It was a medium “Army “ green & quite symmetric.
