I have some very weird things growing in my squash patch. I elected not to grow giant pumpkins this year but I think they just might have the last laugh. I planted some seed our of a store bought sweet dumpling squash and some I saved a couple of years ago out of a Kubocca type squash. I have a few normal looking squash but more of these strange looking things. I have just finished posting some pics in my diary. If anyone has any idea what these are please tell me. I suspect they are a cross between a pumpkin and a squash... They are yellow with slight green striping going up from the bottom end...... (having almost a buttercup type bottom (light green about two to three inches in diameter with a long end coming out of them.) They appear to be neither pumpkin or squash...probably good for nothing but pie. ): The day I planted them in my garden, I could not find my pkg. of bush buttercup squash so planted these things. Then after it was too late, there were the buttercup seeds right in front of me! Have a look and let me know what you all think. Thanks, Sue in N.B.
