Would anyone have pictures of how they support their giant cabbage during growth over the season. I have not built any yet but would like to see what is being used.
Thanks, Kirk

Kirk Here's the best ones I've seen. Duel purpose....protection early and support later. Look at the next few entries in this diary

Kirk, In alaska I've seen growers build a 2x4 frame, then stretch a fabric across. It gets the plant up off the ground a little for ventilation, and is designed to rest on top of the wheel wells of a pick -up. So on harvest day you reach under cut it off, then lift the whole thing up by the frame and put it in the truck, never disturbing the cabbage and drive away ..looks like it works pretty good

Do giant cabbages do any better with a bit of shade. After watching a video of a grower with a shade over top,it reminds me of my buddy who got me started, and his garden has a lot of shade but grew an o/s cross really large despite that. I bet that the cabbages would look healthier.
