I recognize that the bubble envelope is an easy and cheap way to ship seeds and 9 out of 10 times there is no problem. I suggest clubs spend a little more to ship the high priced auction seeds. I just received a lot of 3 seeds that I paid $350 at auction for and they were all cracked and/or crushed. I'm sick. It wouldn't take much more time or expense to ship these in a small rigid cardboard box taped shut. You could then then slide the box into a bubble mailer.

You have my deepest sympathies. I sure hope some disgruntled postal employee isn't at fault. That kind of destruction just isn't acceptable, no matter who shipped it.

I totally agree. It's well worth a few extra dollars to insure a seed purchase. It's bad enough to lose super seeds, but to lose the money too... AAARRRGGGHHH!!! Bodene, I hope you have a super growing season after this.

Sorry to hear that Bodene - have you tried contacting the club you bought them from ? (perhaps the grower that sent them would be kind and send another set if they contact him\her and explain what happened) - I doubt they even thought about something like that happening but I do agree for future shipments something should be done (either insure the package for the amount paid (even if they started adding the cost to the auction price I'm pretty sure anyone that was buying a $300+ pack would pay a couple bucks to get it sent insured) or place them inside a sturdy container of some sort inside the bubble.

Unless you are sending them in metal containers, nothing will help. I have sent seeds in boxes, the inside cased with bubble wrap and then the seeds wrapped up in bubble wrap in a plastic bag and they still arrive totally cracked open.

The box was clearly driven over or caught up in a metal roller or something. I have even had miniscule rutabaga seeds wrapped up with four layers of bubble wrap in a bubble envelope and come out in England as powder. Especially the English are good at crushing and losing seeds.

Wow! The Iceman and the Michigan club have come to my rescue. I can't thank you enough. There aren't many folks like you anymore. They are replacing these hot and scarce seeds for me for free. Classy.

I received my seeds from the PGPGA auction and they were in a bubble pack that was put inside a small USPS shipping box. Very well packed . Great job by Marv.
