Many of you know me, I’ve been around BP.com for a few years. There’s a cause that’s become very important to me and I’m asking for your help by supporting an auction of my seed collection.

Nineteen year old Britney Gengel, from my home town of Rutland MA, was killed in the earthquake that struck Haiti. As a college sophomore, Britney was on a three week tour to visit orphanages and help feed the poor when the earthquake struck, she hoped to one day start her own orphanage. Her Dad has set up the “Be Like Brit” Fund to build that orphanage in Britney’s honor, in Grand Goave, Haiti. Auctioning my seed collection allows me to support that fund.

I’m auctioning my collection on Thursday, March 3 at 8pm EST in the chat room. My seeds include a 772.2 Poirier, 1725 Harp, 1180 Pukos, 1288 Wallace, 1566, 1689, 1041.5 McKie, 1207 Young, 279 Leonard and many other great seeds. The full seed list is on the bp.com homepage. I’ve asked every grower’s permission to raffle these seeds. Many offered additional seeds including their 2010 seed packs, thank you growers for being so giving. I want to thank Ken for allowing me to have this auction on BP.com and Tom for his assistance. To you bidders, thank you in advance for your generosity, this means more than you know.

Hey Craig

We are very happy to be able to help support your auction. Our 2010 seeds were sent out to you last week, so they should arrive any day now. Hopefully they will be good enough to raise a few $$. Seeds from our big tomato are also included. Good luck.

Thank you Tom, Phil and Jane and Dick for the words of encouragement. Dick, the Orange Angels donation is a tremendous gesture, the donation will go so far in building the orphanage. It can be made out to the "Be Like Brit Fund". I'll send my address to you.

Bryan, yes you are right, but why give money to paypal, when we want it to go to "Be Like Brit". Just a thought

Tallcorn.....Paypal does not take money from the receiver when doing a "personal" transfer. There are no paypal fees, when funds are sent using the "personal option" in the same country....but when funds go across the border, I pay 1% paypal fee on my end. For $1 on the 100 I can instantly send the money to Craig, if I have to go to the bank to get a money order, I have spent time, and with my business, time is money, so I choose to use paypal.

Cheers...
