With seed auctions winding down, what were the hot seeds in the auctions this year? I know there are some pumpkinheads watching these auctions carefully, tracking prices, etc.

Clearly the 2009 Wallace seed drew widespread interest. The 1725 Harp drew a $500 bid and the bidder got a NICE bonus seed with a 1610 Lieber thrown in.

1161 Rodonis pulled a big price...

Starr 1775, from the 1725 Harp was a big seller too.

What was the surprise seed of the season, if any?

the seed that shocked me is the 1140 Finders.
it will see dirt in my patch in 2013. May be the next HOT one!
thinking of using 1770 Lieber as pollinator, heavy x heavy

I think a seed that will prove it's worth, will be the 1382 Bryson. It's gone big both ways it's 1419 Bryson X 1725 Harp. Apparently was growing faster than Jim's 1818, when it went down. It will be in my patch! Terry

Both the 1775 and the 1770 sold high for unproven seeds not being word records. Don't forget the Daletas package was sought after.

There were some seeds like the 1409 Miller ,1634 and 1596 Werner plus others that went fairly cheap considering what they have produced.

these seeds are not going for a lot but I think next year or the year after they will.
1630 Colbert ( 1596 Werner x 1303 Sweet)
1256 Colbert ( 1303 Sweet x 1596 Werner)

I agree about that 1140 Finders seed. I was lucky enough to win one of those auctions. Understand that it grew in very adverse, hot conditions. That is ideal for Southern California. What color was it?
