I have looked at pictures of Ian Neale's aubergine from Malvern. I cant seen any match of it when looking at pictures of aubergine varieties. His in the picture is somewhat a somewhat yellowish orange ball with some green. It looks like the Monstruese de New York is purple and somewhat oblong. The world record is 3.06 kg. I find it interesting that for Monstruese de New York, some of the french sites I had translated said potential size was 2-4 kg.

Aubergines can turn other colours when over ripe like cucumbers do. Ian's aubergine is the heaviest official aubergine, but in Africa you can buy bigger ones at the market.

I would like a lot Brad, I would try the Monstruese de New York against the Aswad variety. I think I will plant most of those seeds.

Thanks James for sending me the picture of your monstreuse de New York. You were not far off from the WR. Definitely makes me think that this variety has much potential. I do not see any other place that these seeds are available for sale. Thanks Brad for the opportunity.
