Compost Tea is a liquid solution or suspension made by steeping compost in water. This tea is used either as a foliar feed or as a soil drench.
There are three kinds of compost tea, depending on how the tea is made.
Fresh Compost Tea is made by steeping the compost in the water for a brief period, then applying the liquid. Fermented Compost Tea is made by leaving the compost and water in the container for a period of several days, allowing a build-up of anaerobic bacteria and fungi to chemically alter the mixture. Aerated Compost Tea is made by allowing the compost and water mixture to sit a while, while air bubbles are used to maintain a high level of oxygen. This is done in order to encourage aerobic bacteria and fungi.

It is suggested that some pathogenic fungi may be checked by keeping soils in prime condition to the exclusion of the causal pathogens of the plant damaging fungal diseases.
Properly made teas are applied weekly to soil (and foliage) at low volume rates. 20 gallons per acre is commonly applied which is far below the 90 gallopns per acrte that most growers use to apply pesticides by hand sprayer of backpack.

I do not think there can be a comparrison. They are all good. Compost Tea assumes tea leached or brewed from finished compost. It is my choice for excellent. It depends on the diversity of plant and usually manures completely cured in the compost pile. Fermented teas are by the contents and should be called by the contents name. ie: Symbrew tea, fermented soil tea, half finished compost tea or fermented comfrey tea. All these teas contain some of all the varied plant and manure content including some NPK. Aerobic Tea is aerated tea. It is equal to finished compost and when properly made contains no fertilizer. It becomes a complete living biology consisting of bacteria, fungi, amoeba to nemitodes ready to work on all other forms of organic content in whatever phase it may be in. The use of aerobic tea is the fastest way to move from fermented solids to humic acids and beyond providing food the plant can uptake and use. The finish is all done by the biology of the soil. The final action is completed right up close to the roots. The roots maintain an environment and support a specialized bacteria zone...ever so small to do this final conversion, to food the plant can use. Mycrorrhiza hosted by the roots if used simply bring water and food to the final zone where the roots and the bacteria work together to make lunch for the plant. Anything including the result of sunshine and foliar feeding moves, to this root zone. There it plays it's role, becomes a part, of the whole and the mystery, of life continues. ....Now you may hear the words hogwash, by some who simply have not attained the full knowledge, of the process. I suggest no one knows much more than the process. Messing with it is a craps shoot. It is known that most if not all synthetics are the carriers of the elements that harm the process. If we use the cides and the manufactured fertilizers they are biocides. They kill. We use them with that full knowledge and accept the consequences.
