I'm not sure about soup makers but when brewing Aerobic Compost Tea the general rule is usually not more than 1 pound of compost per 60 gallons water. So 12-14 oz would be a conservative starting point. This ratio varies with each different type of brewer. Dissolved oxygen levels of 6PPM or better are assumed.

There is lot's of good tested and proven Aerobic Tea data within the North Country Organics web site. This is the only site that I am aware of that posts their test results using their compost, boosters, minerals and brew maker.

Anyone could learn a lot by reading the data on that site. I have followed their lead for four years and find their guidance most valuable. I have tested the air flow which is not on the site using their Biti Bobolator brewer at 3.5 cfm. I doubt this cfm can be derived from fish tank compressors. Someone correct me if I am wrong. No fish tank compressor available on my market will do 3.5 cfm or even close to that.
