 For an easy entry-level brewer get a 5-gallon bucket. Pick up a lid too to keep the foem from overflowing too much.
 
 Then get a pump for a fish tank with about 5 feet of tubing and an air stone.  If you have city water, bubble the water for an hour to rid of the chlorine before adding your ingredients.  Good luck!
