Ok, Now I need a pump however am having a hard time finding one that would be good for this. I have heard that little aquarium pumps arn't any good and that I should look for one that puts out 50 or more watts. The problem is THATS ALL I KNOW. I have some links below could you guys tell me if which is the right choice or if NONE of these is what I need, Im really confused do I need an AIRPUMP or WATER PUMP. HELP

            | Starrfarms | Pleasant Hill, Or | Here are two that I have ordered from in the past, and am happy with both their products and service. Each have quite a few pumps to choose from, so just find the capacity and price range you are looking for, you'll be set. Good Luck!

            | UnkaDan | | I've had one of these for over 2 years ,,works well on a 55 gallon brewer with the "Starr" sprinkler hose diffuser.

            | UnkaDan | | check that seller, he has smaller sizes which would work in a 5 gallon pail | 8/23/2008 7:03:48 PM |

            | SCTROOPER | Upstate S.C. | Ok, I have been looking at these. This really helps. My next question is this. The part that hooks on to the end of the PVC pipe has an adapter for an 1/2 inch tube. These pumps look to have ports for much smaller tubes. My question is HOW do if get the small tubes that fit these pumps onto my pvc. I hope i am not confusings | 8/23/2008 10:39:50 PM |

            | Tad12 | Seattle, WA | SCTROOPER,
I was going back through old threads and saw this post and realized I had never responded, I'm so sorry!

I hope it's not too late, but here's the specs. on our extended life motor:

51 [email protected] PSI, 110 VOLT, 60 hz AC, max 1.1 Amp.

I would consider these to be a minimum requirement, our regular pump pushes even more oxygen.

Always err on the side of too much air. If you're interested in a 55 gal. brewer, I have a friend that makes a cheap one that he's tested.

Most people can get by with just 5 gallons though.
