I have made 2 batches of compost tea. Both batches I have had whats all most like mud settle to the bottom of the tea. And its hard to use the bottom 4 gallons of tea because of the solids in it. I have tried 2 different mesh bags to hold the worm castings and alfalfa meal and have same problem with both. Is this normal for tea.

You want 400 micron mesh bags if possible, this is the optimal size to allow the microbes to be extracted but still keep most of the particulate in the brewer. If you have the right mesh and are agitating the tea (you shouldn't have anything settling until you turn off the motor), then it shouldn't be an issue.

What size brewer do you have? We have some bags that might work for you depending on the size...

Only when I turn of the motor does it settle to the bottom. I brew about 15 gallons at a time.

Hmmmm...you could try straining the tea then, or changing your compost source. The problem has to be either the micron size on your mesh bag or the particle size of your compost. I've never heard of that much sediment buildup over the course of a brew.
