I have been adding some mushroom compost to my tea this year. The tea has had a slight odor of sewage, so the last batch I decided to omit the compost and just go with castings and alfalfa pellets. The tea smelled much better this time. I really wanted to add the compost for biodiversity, but I'm sure this odor was a problem.
Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. I know the obvious answer is to find another source of compost. That's all I have right now.

LOL....I tried some experimentZ this year too.....Ammino Acids at 24 hrs at 87 degreeZ with a rapid bubble dont smell to good either.....I had to pour it somewhereZ.....

I would stick with just the worm castings and alfalfa. Are the pellets completely consumed by the end of the brew cycle? I'd consider using some unsulfured molasses in conjunction with the alfalfa. I really like organic alfalfa meal as a microbial food, but haven't experimented with the pellets.
If you are getting a strong odor, I'd toss the stuff.
