Compost tea recipe for 33 gallon barrel

8 cups worm castings
8 cups steer manure
2 cups molasses
2 cups alfalfa pellets

110 liter air pump that runs great; plenty of oxygen

I ran this for over 24 hours. Is that too much time and does the recipe look ok or would you make changes.

a 1 gallon paint strainer is not big enough for the ingredients. I use a pillow case. Is this acceptable or would a mesh bag of some type be preferrable?

Thanks

My wife suggested a burlap bag. It holds the ingredients just fine. i just read that Tad12 says you need air in the bag if that holds the ingredients. I have two brewers. One with a a soaker hose at the bottom and one with 3/4 inch PVC pipe in a circle at th the bottom with holes drilled in the underside of the pipe. This one also has a center pipe in the set up with holes drilled in the bottom so I do get air in the bag of ingredients. Can you just dump the ingredients in the barrel and then strain the liquid when it comes out of the faucet. Comments on this and my previous posting yesterday wold be appreciated.
