I've read so many conflicting and inconclusive info on compost teas online. I'm wondering from those of you who have used compost tea on your pumpkins have you noticed a difference in growth? Have any of you stopped using compost tea?

I was very skeptical for about 3 years straight. But I noticed that many hevy hitters were getting "something" from it. So I tried it. Cost $80.00 the first time, about $3.00 a batch after that.

After each application, my leaves never looked better the next day. The plant was happy as can be. Fruit gains increased. Powdery mildew did not even show up.

I would not stop using it for nothing now. By timming applications of fertilizers nearby appplications of tea, the effectivness of the ferts seems to increase greatly. Virtually all my 30+ pound a day growths have come 24 to 48 hours after applying the tea.

Thanks ghopson. On timing do you do fertilizing the day after tea?

Yes, one day after the appilction of the tea I apply fish or seaweed or whatever combo mostly to the roots and some foliar. Sunday I applied tea, Monday I put down ferts, Tuesday had a gain of 32 pounds!

I used compost aerobic tea for five years. It has been said that the biological content of a gallon of properly made tea is the application rate of one gallon per acre. It has been published that the biological content in one gallon of aerobic compost tea can be as much as the biology found in ten or more tons of raw manure.

The occupational factor on leaves of living biology following application is so strong that the problems we fear just can not get a foothold and develop into any problems. I have personally observed this factor.

You can not use to much properly made aerobic finished tea. Any excess runs to the soil. Any excess should be any simply dies off wherein the die off becomes food for the living or adds organic material most of us need.

This in no way devalues any other kind of tea you may be aware of nor does it cause any biological confusion in the soil or on the leaves. It is complimentary to any other tea you may wish to use. I had healthier stronger plants beyond any doubt when I used it.
