This may be a dumb question but here goes anyway.
They say you want to keep the contents of the filter bag constantly agitated while brewing your tea to strip the biological goodies away from the compost or what ever you have in your tea bag.
Couldn't you just put all the ingredients you use to make your tea into the bucket free floating and brew it up and then at the end before using it just run the tea through a strainer to filter out the free floating material? It seems to me this would be a better way to get everything circulated rather than being in a bag.

yes you can, you just need to keep the water agitated enough to prevent anaerobic sediment on the bottom. Some do it,,depends on what you find easier, teabag, or filter after the brew.
