Can to much air be a problem. My pump is 45w 50L/min, using 5 gallon bucket.

I've never heard of too much air. Are you using an air stone? It would take a tremendous amount of agitation to destroy the bacteria. In fact many compost tea maker designs include a water pump to provide additional agitation.

I use a soaker hose with some extra hole poked in. They are large bubbles. water level is 3" from the rim so the water don't get out.

If your water level is three inches from the top of the bucket and it isn't splashing out then you are not creating excessive aeration. I use a commercial brewer and the water would surely splash out at three inches from the top with the pump they supplied.

Don't worry about too much air. I use a 51 liter per min air pump on our 5 gallon extended life system.
