Following up on a post in a previous thread. It's way long overdue and most well-deserved.

! think Ken is very deserving for a HOF induction.Where would the Hobby be without BP.com.Hes been a quiet ambassador of the sport/hobby for 20 plus years.

Ken was given the Steve Jepsen Vine Of Honor award in 2018. I have a feeling he will be the first grower with both honors eventually.

We in California would certainly second the nomination of Ken to the Hall of Fame. Can’t think of anyone who has done (and does) more to advance Giant pumpkin growing. Thanks Ken for all you’ve done!

I suggested it in my post yesterday and I cannot think off anyone more deserving. Technically he might not tick all the requirements but if someone was to add up all the free hours he has given our hobby we would all get a shock. Plus the amount off growers like Ian and myself that have had there pumpkin growing careers launched as a direct result off this site. Ken thank you so much you have my vote Stewie

Ken is deserving of this and much more. His vision and creation of this site is a large part of why our hobby has grown over the past 20 years.

Ken does do a ton for the sport, I see him volunteering at weigh offs through out the region. Let's not forget though that Ken did have the state record in 2011. Durham Fair in 2011 1 Ken Desrosiers 1487.5 New Ct State Record 2 Dick Wallace 1408.5 3 Matt DeBacco 1256 4 Peter Sweet 1107 5 Norm Gansert 954.5 6 Chris Horn 954.5 7 Christopher Guilmett 952.5 8 Russ DeGrazia Jr 918 9 John B. Williams 887 10 Gary Vincent 869.5

Yes, Ken is a very deserving fellow - However one doesn't get nominated off of BP for the GPC Hall of Fame. Here's a snippet from the Hall of Fame Criteria: For the entire criteria go here > https://gpc1.org/about/rules/gpc-hall-of-fame/
..... Nominations for the HOF will be submitted by Regions. GPC Area Representatives will be communicating to all clubs who in turn are advised to communicate with other clubs in their Region to determine a worthy nominee from their area. Any nomination submitted must come from within their Region.
.....Club presidents will submit the nominee along with a bio to their GPC Regional Committee Rep. If they can’t agree on just one, the Committee will accept up to two per Region, but only one will move forward for consideration per region. GPC Reps will both work with and help oversee these nominations in their Regions. This will help ensure the worthiness of these nominations to be on the ballot. Nominations that do not meet the above criteria will not be accepted.
The Window for nominations to be considered for the 2021 GPC Hall of Fame will CLOSE on Dec 1st 2021.

Thanks, Wiz. Looks like I cannot nominate, but someone from the northeast region can.

Ken , thank you for all you have done for BP! You helped me so many times with getting stats in back in California! We had over 100 entries at Elk Grove a few times and it was a daunting task. Cindi G
