Why not grow the 1271? It was a 2114 x selfed right? Same genetics. Has anyone grown the 1271?

Ummm, I'm thinkin' 'grow the nicely-shaped and orange 1271 and pollinate that bad girl with the 1501'. I know - us New Yorkers, lol. Whenever I see 'Welch' I think of Bob and 's grape jelly - Separately, of course, lol---Us Old-Timers, too---eg

I sent you a real letter weeks ago with no response about the 1271. My main question is, are you sure it a true self pollination with no chance of contamination? The idea that your looking beyond your own seed for 2114 genetics only raises additional concerns. Any chance you could offer insight?

Ron had it on his website for a hot minute right around when you posted this. Must've sold as many as he wanted cause he took it down after a few days
