Hi all,
I am growing pumpkins again this year, but this time with a friend of mine. I started 3 seeds and all 3 have weird Cotelettons. One has 3 and the other 2 only have one useful leaf. Do these have a chance at producing anything?
Thanks,
Leif

Definitely! It's like tripping in the first step of a marathon. In my experience (even the one with the 3 cot leaves). They grow up to be just fine adult plants. It is not uncommon for juvenile plants to do weird things.

The three cots is likely to become a flat vine. The other two are still in the race.

No clue. I got a triple cot too this year. Just have to wait and see I guess.

Not sure & haven't seen one yet this year but a third leaf may be a second that got off on the wrong track and split - but, as above, give all a chance and on any ones with only one leaf, if the 1st true leaf itself is there, that'll be just fine also, or, at least, just fine eventually, in its own right - eg

I'd probably avoid the triple if there are alternatives.

I asked a similar question 10 days ago about a couple of plants slow to start and one with weird cots. I'm happy to say all of the plants are doing well. I forget who responded to my concerns, but in a nutshell they said all of your cot problems will be forgotten in a couple of weeks and they were right. "Don't worry, be happy".

Having said that, my only 2517 when down in the resent cold snap. Odd thing is, I have 4 identical 6 x 8 enclosures with identical heat cables and identical lamps in side, all working. My 2365 and 2200 Wolf along with my 1760 Uhlmeyer came through with no problems. I have a strong looking 1760 backup so I'm ok. Paid $115 for the Mendi - 'easy come, easy go".
