The paton guys have this 2600 opp pumpkin. Do you guys think there is a new WR this year?
Maybe there are other guys with a similar pumpkin?

It's still doing close to 20 lbs per day for gosh sake! I think it's safe to say it's a new WR if it gets to the scale!! Go Go Go Go Go !!!!

You never know whats out there. And the folks sitting on a giant got to sweat what it weighs.I'll put $100 that there no other 519 inchers out there. We got7/8 weeks to go. Part of the excitement.

They're probably going to run out of ott on the chart before they harvest. There is a formula for calculating weight though so I guess they can just plop that into excel. Not that the chart is all that accurate on the tail end, almost every pumpkin over 2200lbs seems to go heavy.
I don't think it's just going to be a world record, I think it's going to be over 3000lbs. Very exciting stuff, good job and keep it going

I don't think there's anything out there tapping 519 ott just like Joe said!!
Is that even legal to have your pumpkin tape over 500 inches? lol

Should go 5% heavy. Already a WR. Best of luck bringing her to the finish line. Prediction: Will tape 3000# and go 5% heavy. 3152# Thanks to Quinn Werner for producing the 1885 Werner seed.

I'll be at the weigh off and will post here as it happens. I might try a livestream on FB if I can work out how to do it. Exciting times!

I don't think anyone else has one over 500 inches, yet, but there is a lot of heavy hitters out there that a being very quiet about what they have, when that is happening they usually show up at the weigh offs with a monster.

Latest side view the shape looks like its sister kin, the 2702.9 Cutrupi.
Time for a joke:
What did Jack O'Lantern say about the big, curvey 1885 Werner sisters?
..."Hubbard, hubbard!"

If the Patons do it. The 1885 will be worth $$$ 1,000.00 American.First seed to produce 2 world records back to back.I do believe. I could be wrong Back in the day it might have been done thinking the 500 to 1000 lb WR days.

Their 2593 was estimating at 2060 on Day 70 and ended up estimating at 2431 that is an 18% increase from day 70 to weigh off. This year they are at 2607 on day 70 if they were to increase it by 18% they would hit the scales estimating at 3076 pounds. I am going to guess they go 5% heavy and end up weighing in at 3230.

The chart can't account for these weights yet, and they all go heavy. The 2702 was probably in reality a bit light to chart, but ended up 6% heavy because the data is extrapolated to bigger fruit. Either way I think 3000lbs is very much within grasp

I have my biggest fruit I've ever grown Dale,, and its 1000 pounds less then theirs. I can't sleep at night because of the fight I have ahead of me getting her to the end.
If I was them, I'd probably have my wife hook up an IV bag and wait out the next month in bed. The only thing I'd do is check on vines, fans and whatever needed to get her to the end! lol
G0 Patons, GOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Its been a long time coming!

Going back to Ashton's comment about the chart not being accurate at the upper end, I put the GPC data into excel and sorted for OTT. There have been 13 Pumpkins over 485" OTT and they were all heavy to the chart and most of them significantly so. 11 of the 13 were at least 4% heavy. 9 of the 13 were at least 6% heavy and 4 of them were at least 10% heavy. The mean % to chart for Pumpkins measuring 485" or larger is 7.38% heavy.
If you increase the sample size to the top 100 Pumpkins by OTT measurement, you have a sample set including everything over 460". 80% of those have gone heavy to the chart. with the mean % to chart being 3.8% heavy.
Statistically the odds are in favor of the Patons pumpkin going heavier than the chart.

And guess what! Not a single pumpkin grown off the 1885, which was over 200 pounds went light, and the lightest one happened to be the 2365, which wend 4 percent heavy, which means that pumpkin will probably go at least 4% heavy.
