With the newer genetics what are people getting for total pounds gained in September? Is say 200-300 out of the picture?

I know weather is always the biggest factor along with health of the plant. But with the improvements made to genetics are the days of only 100-150 over?

In 2018, a New Hampshire grower put on 386 pounds in September. Clarification the grower did not gain 386 pounds but his Giant did!!!

A decent growing fruit with a healthy plant will easily gain 300 plus #, with decent weather.
Growers who live near a big body of water that have warmer nights than folks inland, can get gains closer to 400#.

The Patons will probably only get 100 pounds out of september. But that's because they're only on day 90 lol.

Age of the pumpkin is more important that whatever month you're growing in

2261 - Did 552lbs in Sept plus 11 days in OCT
2520- Did 434lbs in Sept plus 8 days in OCT

1858 - Did 75 lbs in Sept it only grew a few days, Stem looked ok I had a fan on it, it was completely rotten inside and fell off when I picked it

Point being, Plant health trumps all
