I found this news segment from Fox9 in Minneapolis giving the tour dates and locations for Travis's New World Record Pumpkin.

Congratulations Travis!
On a side note: Can one of the Cali growers tell me the story about Half Moon Bay & how the growers haul their pumpkins on top of the bed of the truck?... Seems a little sketchy hauling pumpkins like that. Just a little top heavy.

Usually a pumpkin that looks like it’s hauled on top of the bed is on a custom pallet designed to lift the pumpkin above the wheel wells in the bed. The pallets are usually pretty heavy so, although it looks like the weight is all above the bed, taking into account the pallet and pumpkin combined weight seems to be ok. Not aware of any tipping or shifting having occurred to anyone hauling in this manner. Looks are likely deceiving as to how the weight is distributed.
