Hi, I have just been reading over a few issues of SNGPG newsletter and see that quiet a few people are using this product called Florel
I don't know much about it yet, so still looking for more information on this, but have read that you apply it to the pollinated pumpkin 48 after pollination, but not to the blossom end.
I am just interested if anyone can put a link to where they are purchasing this from as i am thinking of trying it out next season
I am from overseas, so sourcing it could be interesting but have a good few months before our season even starts.
Any information or links were it can be purchased would be appreciated,
Cheers.

In the meantime, until anyone answers your actual question, you can look into its uses/etc. by typing florel in the upper-right Site Search window here and there is SOME stuff about it you can peruse at will. Good Luck---eric g

Look for a product that contains Ethephon, (2-chloroethylphosphonic acid), I believe that's the active ingredient. Although be careful as its an organophosphate. Handy if you know someone in the AgChem business.

Appreciate the replies,
So Florel is just basically a brand name?
What i should be looking for is Ethephon is this correct?
After doing a bit of a search for Ethephon, it looks like it comes in 3 versions
Ethephon 480, Ethephon 720 and Ethephon 900
It is used for spraying apples in orchards just before harvest.
I think this is what i am looking for?

I did find some information that they are diluting this Floral at 100ppm
Is this just basically taking say 1ml of floral and adding it to 100ml of water?

I would read this actual label before using this product, especially if I only had a very few plants. There are several
'Do NOT' comments about pumpkins and squash. I'll try to stay out of this but I hope it works for you if you use it.

Appreciate the advice.
I was hoping that someone that has been using this product might give some advice, and if mixing it at 100ppm is correct or if it should be 1000ppm
It looks like 1 quart per 40 gallons is about 100ppm

Per the site search I mentioned, here is one from it and
there are about 7-8 growers that can be emailed from their diaries if more immediate advice is needed.

You can also shout it from the rooftops by putting out a post that says
'Do You Have Experience With Florel?'.
It is still only mid-March and from here on out it'll pick up;
Think of it - If I replied here at 42 times in one day, many more would at least look at the post, lol.
I have my own understanding of parts per million: (Kinda makes my eyes wiggle)
1 = 1 part in 1
.1 = 1 part in 10
.01 = 1 part in 100
.001 = 1 part in 1,000
.0001 = 1 part in 10,000
.00001 = 1 part in 100,000
.000001 = 1 part in 1,000,000
That's my story and I'm sticking to it, lol.
Your formulation is at about...the active ingredient amount must also be taken into account;
Like - one pint of Florel will most-likely not contain 100% of the active ingredient.
Eric out and good luck---eric g

Very much appreciated,
I have sent out a few emails, still waiting for replies.
But if no luck I will again make another post as you have mentioned,
I know a few on here use it, just a matter of getting some replies hopefully.

1 teaspoon in 1/2 gallon of water = 100ppm. Many of us in NH use it every year. Spray or brush it on the pumpkin 48 hours after pollination.

Appreciate all the advice,
Not sure if this ratio works out the same, but also just been told 1\8th tsp per 8oz of water
