Hi I was wondering how many of you growers out there prune or trim the stump? And if it is benificial to cut all the leaves off down to the main vine?

Most growers prune off anything that may cause problems. The leaves along the main should not be cut, unless they are diseased or dying?
Here is a plant that was not pruned:

There were multiple rot spots that were difficult to reach & treat. It was a vigorous plant so I think it resisted the rot well, but perhaps it is fortunate that it didnt get further into the vine or into the pumpkin.
There's two ways to do it and this is one of them, lol.
