Hi folks... I was thinking about adding a watermelon to my list for the first time this year. From what I've read on here, can someone please clarify what is best to do with vines- I am guessing try and get them to root down, but don't bury them as they usually rot this way?
Also, my night time temps are usually around 60F... will this be an uphill battle? has anyone grown anything decent with low temps like that?
anything else I might want to consider that is different from growing pumpkins and squash?
thanks!

60 at night is fine. IMHO root=good, bury=bad but some growers do and it works fine. I think they are fun to grow, go for it !

Yes I grew a 260.5 Michigan is loaded with cool nights rarely get over 60. I wouldnt bury vines.pin them down they will root fast in loose soil.
