The 316 was a great accomplishment hands down. One thing just stands out when I see it and that's the unusual shape. It is common to see a pumpkin that has hit a growth spurt and gets big around the shoulders but melons tend to be more uniform. In fact, it would be easy to say that the 316 was the most out of normal shape of all big melons. Wonder what that caused that? Was the front exceptional and the rear normal? Was the front normal and the rear deficient in some way? If it was more "normal" it would not be such a curiosity. Any thoughts?
In addition, the 316 seeds are the prettiest watermelon seed that I have ever seen. Followed by the 282 with it's hint of red. Anyone else notice this? They also germinated nicely with big full cots.
Just trying to see some conversation. It's not as good of a morning when I scroll down the What's New page and the last entry is from the tomato board.
